Ingredients:
1 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
1 teaspoon salt
3 to 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Additional melted butter for brushing
Instructions:
Activate the Yeast: In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
Mix the Dough: Stir in the melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes, either by hand or with a mixer, until smooth and elastic.
First Rise: Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise for 15-20 minutes in a warm place.
Shape the Rolls: Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape them into balls. Place them on a greased baking sheet or in a 9×13-inch pan.
Second Rise: Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Brush with Butter: Remove from the oven and immediately brush the tops with melted butter for extra softness and flavor.
